Happy Mother’s Day Switzerland
A quick sneak peak to the Mother’s Day photoshoot in Switzerland made entirely by Franek as his first semi-pro experience !
The post should actually have a slightly different title : Happy International Mother’s = Women’s Day. Yes !
Let me describe the scene for you : the subject (which is me for the purpose of this exercice) is resting on the bench with her had supported by the Civil Swiss Code (apparently waiting for something)… while reading De Bona Militum Valetudine Conservanda Liber (The Book on the Maintenance of Good Health of Soldiers) which was publish in 1564 as a Latin medical text by Anton Schneeberger. It provides hygiene and health recommendations for soldiers based on ancient historical accounts.
So Switzerland… the country where women got their rights to vote in 1971 and the Convention of Istanbul is still not applied after 9 years since it got ratified.
As a reminder, Switzerland ratified the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention) on December 14, 2017 and it entered into force on April 1, 2018.
Because of all the reasons mentioned above (any many others), we went for the Swiss Mother’s Day with the idea of “vintage” photoshoot… Although, I’m not so sure if women were allowed to be photographed without their husband’s permission… Given the fact that they were not able to sign a work contract by themselves.
Well, let’s take a risk and make this statement.
Enjoy 🙂
